Product Overview

This is the original travertine product in the RINSUN range — the first-generation design, refined over several years of production and now the most economical entry point into the travertine surface family at $7.76/m². The void pattern is present but restrained: this is travertine as it reads on the smooth-finished interior surfaces of Italian public buildings, not the dramatic rough-quarry face of more premium variants.

All regular colors (Regular color range), 600×1200mm and 1200×2400mm, 2.5 to 3mm thin. The thin profile and competitive price make this the specification choice for large-area travertine installations where budget is the primary constraint. Used in hotel corridor walls, apartment lobby panels, retail feature walls, and any project where travertine aesthetic coverage is needed at maximum m² per budget dollar.

Why Choose RINSUN Travertine?

01. $7.76/m² — travertine aesthetic at stone-adhesive budget

Real travertine panel installation costs $80 to $200/m² installed. Our first-generation travertine panel at $7.76/m² with standard flexible stone adhesive delivers the surface aesthetic at a fraction of that cost. For a 200 m² hotel corridor project, the budget difference is decisive.

02. Thin profile maximises container efficiency on international orders

At 2.5 to 3mm, more panels fit per container than any other travertine product. For international projects where freight cost per installed m² matters, the thin first-generation travertine is the most economical shipping option.

03. The restrained void pattern suits formal and refined interiors

The first-generation travertine void pattern is subtle — appropriate for hotel corridors, apartment lobbies, and retail spaces where the travertine reference adds quality without demanding attention. More dramatic travertine surfaces are available for statement applications.

04. Two formats for different installation contexts

600×1200mm suits installations with multiple switches, sockets, and cutouts. 1200×2400mm suits open feature walls where joint minimisation is the priority. Both use the same mold — the texture is identical across formats.

05. Non-porous — no sealing required in commercial use

Real travertine requires periodic sealing in commercial applications to prevent staining from foot-traffic contact and cleaning products. Our composite surface is factory-sealed — no maintenance sealing program, no specialist products, no scheduled service.

Travertine: Product-specific comparison

This comparison is written for the selected flexible stone surface and its closest traditional alternative: quarried stone cladding.

Point This flexible stone quarried stone cladding
Product Travertine — 600*1200 and 1200*2400, 2.5-3mm Heavy quarried stone slab or veneer
Weight Lightweight flexible stone panel Much heavier stone assembly
Installation Bond to a prepared wall Specialist fixing or stone-setting system
Curves Can follow suitable gentle curves Rigid stone needs custom cutting
Maintenance Product-specific cleaning and edge sealing Stone sealing and joint maintenance

Where this flexible stone fits

Hotel Lobbies & Reception Areas

The travertine aesthetic signals luxury without the structural engineering a real stone lobby wall demands. Columns, lift lobbies, and curved reception desks all install in one operation.

High-End Residential — Feature Walls & Bathrooms

Living room feature walls, master bathroom feature walls, and staircase surrounds. Goes up over plaster or existing surfaces; no demolition, no dust.

Commercial Facade Cladding

Exterior retail, restaurant, and office facades where the stone appearance is part of the brand. Weight under 8 kg/m² means no structural facade engineering in most cases.

Columns, Archways & Curved Elements

Any curved structural element where real travertine cannot follow the radius. The panel flexes to the column diameter and adheres with the same product used on the flat sections.

Best suited to hotel lobbies, residential feature walls, commercial reception areas and lightweight façade accents. Available in 600*1200 and 1200*2400 (mm); 2.5-3mm profile; All regular colors. Confirm the format, adhesive and exposure requirements against the project spec before ordering.

Installation notes for Travertine

1. Prepare the substrate

For Travertine, use a sound, dry and clean wall. Remove loose finishes and correct dampness before bonding the 2.5-3mm flexible stone panel.

2. Dry-fit the first panels

Check the 600*1200 and 1200*2400 layout around openings, corners and trims before bonding.

3. Apply stone adhesive

Use the specified polymer-modified stone adhesive with a notched trowel. Press the panel firmly and keep the adhesive bed continuous.

4. Seal exposed edges

On outdoor or wet-area work, seal cut edges and panel joints with a compatible flexible weather sealant.

Final adhesive, substrate and sealing decisions should follow the project specification and the supplied technical data sheet.

Q1
How does Generation 1 Travertine compare to Relief Travertine and Italy Travertine?
Generation 1 (this product) is the thinnest (2.5–3mm), cheapest ($7.76/m²), and most restrained in void pattern — appropriate for large coverage areas. Italy Travertine ($9.51/m²) has more detailed void geometry. Relief Travertine ($20.57/m²) is 4–6mm deep with dramatic raised forms. Use this product when coverage area and budget are the primary drivers.
Q2
Is the Regular color range different from All regular colors?

Regular color indicates a slightly more curated color selection for this product. Contact us for the specific available colors for this product code.
Q3
Can 1200×2400mm format be used as a floor-to-ceiling panel?

At 2400mm height, it covers standard residential floor-to-ceiling in most markets (standard 2.4m ceiling height). For 2.7m or 3m ceilings, a horizontal joint at mid-height is needed.
Q4
What is the adhesive set time before the wall can be disturbed?

Standard C2TE flexible stone adhesive achieves handling strength in 4 to 6 hours at 20°C. Full adhesive cure is 24 to 48 hours. Avoid any wall contact or impact for 24 hours after installation.
Q5
Is a sample available?

Yes — up to 5 pieces in stock regular colors. Allow 5 to 10 days for sample delivery internationally.
